I am intrigued by the private moments we squeak out, spaces we can live into fully despite the chaos of work and family and life. How we maintain our artistic selves despite the congested spaces of our internal and external lives. Some days hold never-ending demands and responsibilities. How do we find and/or create space? Do we dance on the overpass of a major LA freeway? Twist and jump in the tiny kitchen while making pancakes for our children? Sneak out into the back yard in the cold morning to absorb the air and the expanse of the sky? Squeeze in with the shoppings carts and pallets of produce in the elevator at work - breathing deeply, reminding ourselves of everything big and small... and ever-changing.

And how does this practice sustain us? What do we receive from this play, this work - no matter how brief - that we do not receive from any other part of our lives? What need is met? How does it impact the rest of us - as a parent, as a human being? How does this investigation, this practice, impact the people around us?

I envision original movement generated over an expanse of time, at a variety of inspiring locations with the changing seasons. I am curious about endurance, lightness, spontaneity and longitude as core elements of this piece. I am curious about incorporating environmental sounds and possibly music and / or spoken text
